Welcome!
Hi, I’m Sílvio Cândido 👋
Mechanical Engineer, PhD - Thermal-Fluid and Multiphysics Systems
🔭 I develop mechanical, thermal-fluid and multiphysics systems for demanding R&D applications. My work spans high-power energy-absorption systems, liquid-metal and gas-cooling concepts, electromagnetic flows, conjugate heat transfer and thermo-mechanical design.
🔭 I’m currently working as a Mechanical Engineer at CERN, Switzerland.
🌊 My work focuses on multiphysics simulations, including heat transfer, Electro- and Magnetohydrodynamics, and multiphase flow. My background is in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Multiphysics.
Projects
EletroJetFlow - Electrohydrodynamic Jet Flow Computational Simulation
- My PhD research project explored how electric fields can control/induce the atomization of liquid jets. The animation below illustrates a Taylor cone jet, a phenomenon central to electrohydrodynamic atomization and the main topic of my PhD work.
