Hi there, I’m Sílvio Cândido 👋 This is my personal webpage
- 🔭 I’m currently working as a Mechanical Engineer at CERN in Switzerland.
🌊 My work focuses on CFD and multiphysics simulations of free-surface liquid-metal flows for high-power beam-intercepting systems, including heat transfer, thermal shocks, Magnetohydrodynamics, and two-phase flow.
- ⚡ My background is in Computational Fluid Dynamics and electrohydrodynamic atomization. My PhD research explored how electric fields can control/induce the atomization of liquid jets. The animation below illustrates a Taylor cone jet, a phenomenon central to electrohydrodynamic atomization and the main topic of my PhD work.
